We have groups created by users (Moderate Group Creation is off) plus I as the Super User created a group in the Groups back end. None of these groups appear in the list of groups in the back end. They all appear in the front end.

One other piece of information that may be appropos. One of our users (an administrator) created several groups that he was later unable to open. When he tried to go to the group he received an error screen (screen shot): screencast.com/t/FbPuyioc I subsequently added the group creator to his groups and he was able to get in. That's when I discovered the above situation - when I went to the JomSocial control panel to add him as administrator to his groups.
