I am having problems with my group privacy - viewing and group invite. We have installed CometChat. Is it a known conflict with JomSocial? The reason I ask is because I used to get the message that the join group request would have to be approved for private groups, but now, that does not appear to be the case.
I have some users that are not able to see posts in private groups and others that can, the difference being that they are different joomla user group levels.
Hi, Tom.
No conflicts with Comet Chat was reported. But you can do a test - disable Comet Chat temporary and check if this solves issue.
JomSocial in current version doesn't support Joomla! ACL and groups... so this could be the issue.
Hi, Tom.
Basically user in order to see or post in private group need to be a member of that group. You can set access to private group based on Joomla! groups. I created new user "michal" and I can't view content of private groups (user is not a member of any group). So this feature seems to work fine.
Or could you elaborate - describe circumstances or which users have access but should not?
Yes. Users Mark McCloud and Lynette Wyrick should not have access to Information & Technology nor Executive. I'm also testing with Nikki White and Donna Wood and they seem to not see the groups that they don't belong to.
Hi, Tom.
Mark McCloud belongs to group "Managing Broker' that is under "Administrator" group.
Lynette Wyrick belongs to group "MB - OR" and "MB - Lake Oswego OR" also under "Administrator" group.
Group is inherited so those users are treated as Administrators.
Nikki White and Donna Wood, which group exactly they can't see/access?
