Hi, is there a way to hide a group. i.e. prevent it from showing up on Jomsocial home page with the list of groups?

HI, Karl Johan.

Yes. Just set group to be PRIVATE.

There is a checkbox when editing or creating group, right under group name: prntscr.com/4q4f6x

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

I am aware of private groups, but that does hide their existence in the All Groups listing for every member. Please advice on how the private groups can be hidden from view from everyone who is not a member.

Hi, Karl.

You mean that you want to hide private group on group listings as well?

Private group activities are not displayed on stream, group is not displayed in group module. So they are only visible on group listings.... if you hide them from listings... how users will know that such a group exist?

Well it is for groups and discussion for invite-only members.

Anyway it seems JomSocial is not what we were looking for. So we installed RSFiles! and Kunena Forum to handle the actual activities of the site. We also reverted to the regular Joomla registration routine, We may still use JomSocial for the members to mingle without moderation but with all the bugs and disappointment jomsocial could not handle the needs of our members only site.
