Is it possible to have a new group type which is:

1) Identical to public group except that approval is required to join the group
2) Posting of photos/videos is only allowed for owner of the album

same like your request about group photos module before, this is customization on jomsocial and as default we can't create public group with approval and only allow photos/videos only allowed for the owner of the album (on groups) :)

In this case, I think an easier way is to hide the join group button for certain groups. Possible to advise on how it can be done hardcoded?

I am hoping that the support team can provide me some constructive solution whether than keep forwarding me to developers. The support for other software that I have subscribed have given me much better support.

using this way (hide join group button) has same way like what you want because you only want to hide join button for specific groups.. you must hack our core file, group file and our libraries..

Hi,

How about hardcoding the group ID? For example,

If (group ID is not 1 and 2) print page with join button
Otherwise print page without join button

I am sure this can be done rather easily?

Group ID is a dynamic ID, we don't know the ID after you created a group.. as i said before... this is not an easy modification.. if this is easy, i'm sure we will help you to make this thing happen..
