I search the forum but did not find a solution.

My problem:
I tried to upload an avatar to a group and I tried to upload a cover for the group. I received the error message: uploaded file typ is not supported.
I tried this with *gif,*.jpg, *png nothing works. I looked up the entry in the media manager, everything is entered here (by standard I think:png,jpg,gif,JPG,PNG,GIF) so it should work. I cotactedmy provider. We added some code to the htaccess to set the tmp dir. This should work, too.

I can upload several files with the upload feature in the photo part of jomsocial, I can create albums, set the cover for an album,....

I can choose a picture from an album to use it as a group cover, but I cannot upload it directly.

I am using Joomla3.2.3 and JomSocial 3.1.1

Actually I don't know what throws that issue... all settings seems to be fine.
As for now you could use workaround for this: upload cover photo to photo albums and then when changing group cover don't upload cover but use that one uploaded previously in photo albums (you can browse your albums in modal window).

Also I assign developer to this thread to check what is wrong.

This issue caused by the SEF setting, I just disabled it and working fine...

I think you edit the htaccess file right? that's why this feature is broken.

Ok, I didnot edit the .htaccess apart from the features of setting the tmp directory as you wrote in one of the forum posts.But good, that it works now.

Don't you think that SEO is very important and that your component should be able to handle Joomla 3.2.x's features of handling SEO?
