Is it possible to modify your code such that only registered users of the website are able to view the activity and information within a Public Group?

Currently when a new public group is created, a non-registered user of the website can see everything about that group if they can navigate to the web address for the public group. In particular, they can view the membership of the public group and see users details.

Preferably, I would like it such that registered users of the website are able to participate in the public group. However, non-registered users of the website should see what non-members of a private group see (in other words, non-members of a private group only see the description and nothing else).

This is a critical part of what I need to achieve, because I need content (particularly users and their posts) in JomSocial to not be viewable to people who aren't registered members of my website. The example:

www.defglis.com.au/index.php/jomsocial/g.../5-test-public-group

users can see who is a member and the activity on the page.

Hi, Vince.

You have two possibilities :)

1. Add your idea as a feature request here: uservoice.jomsocial.com/forums/101561-feature-request
2. Hire a developer to help you achieve it: www.jomsocial.com/jomsocial-developers

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Thanks Michal, I seem to have found a reasonable workaround for the issue:

- I have created a new menu item for "Registration" and have made that public, so users can register on my site
- I have modified permissions for the "Home" menu link to Registered users only - this inhibits anyone seeing anything on Jomsocial at all which is exactly what I want.
- Now I can turn all my groups public and no one who isn't registered can see them.

This is solved (via workaround).
