Group Discussions ACL Bug - Jomsocial 3.1.0 and JSPT 4+
I am having problems with group discussions. I have 2 user levels setup. 1 level with access to groups and 1 without access. I have discovered a bug that the level the does not have access to groups still can incorrectly access discussions within that group (even though they do not have permission to join to group without upgrading their account).
I talked with the JSPT team and they suggested I talk with the Jomsocial team. They suggested:
Yes, got your issue. We would suggest you if you can once ask the JS team that they have any configuration to hide the discussions for users who do not have access to the group. If they have any configuration then you can easily hide the discussions. But if they don't have any configuration for this then we will discuss this issue with our team.
Am I missing a configuration setting in JomSocial, is there a bug or is there a way to hide the discussions from users that do not have permission to access groups?
As for now JomSocial does not have ACL. But did you tried to make a group private?
In private groups only accepted users have access to discussions and other group features.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
