I have to make a choice about a solution for distance co-working, is it possible with jomsocial to do this, using private groups :
- share DOCx, XLSx, PDF,PPTx files (as photos, videos)
- share a folder in a group (as dropbox) where every body in the group can add/edit/delete file

What you are wanting to do is possible using the discussions feature in groups. please visit demo.jomsocial.com/index.php/groups2/viewdiscussions?groupid=4 and there you upload and download files to see how it works the demo site is a full functioning copy of jomsocial

- docX and xlsX are not allowed (ok for doc and xls), maybe it's just a parameter
- It's possible to share a file but not for a group to share files at the same place, as a folder.
Jomsocial seems to be excellent for building communities, not for my needs.

Jomsocial file sharing only can do it from group discussions.
for make file sharing outside discussions it not easy as they simple purpose. need 3 days until a week to do that. and will disappear on upgrade process. because we not only do it at templates layer. but also at Models and Controllers. I suggest you to hire developer.

or you can use other 3rd party Joomla extentions ( extensions.joomla.org/extensions/directo...umentation/downloads ) maybe from that a lot options any suitable wit your purpose.

about file types permission, is only about parameters settings at Joomla file managers.

This is not resolved, but thanks for answer. I understand this is not a simple addon to do, and that it need more development than template level (of course). It seems very close and easier than photo management.
This could be a great improvement for your product, I regret you don't see it :)
