When I attempt to upload files to discussions, they show 100% uploaded but I never get a completed message and they do not show on the discussion thread. I've updated the allowed file types in media manager but can not upload a jpg, doc, pdf or txt.

Hi Pat,

I get this error after uploading

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">

</head><body>
<h1>Not Acceptable</h1>
<p>An appropriate representation of the requested resource /index.php could not be found on this server.</p>

error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.</p>

this is probably server issue (setting in your server), can you contact your hosting provider for this please?

Rochen was able to unblock the file upload for discussions and there are now several added to the test discussion. However, when I click on the link to download a file, 9 times out of 10 a pop-up briefly appears but I am not prompted for where to save the file and it does not download. Could you let me know if this is a JS or a hosting issue?

Hi Pat,

Just try you install fresh Joomla and Jomsocial in your localhost, if this issue is working fine so this issue is hosting issue..

because I test in my own site, everything is working fine.
