This is not support request but just a suggestion or feature request .

We have

1) dedicated server
2) optimized for best performance , Nginx , cloudflare CDN etc.
Front page opening in 2.3 second

I think we have done whatever we could to improve performance.

Now in groups having big number of members any operations related to

Adding discussions
creating event etc takes sometimes even one minute.

I understand , We can disable notifications or minimize number of members in the groups ( but this is not the goal)

Is there a way to generate emails ( notifications) jos_community_mailq after having event, discussion submitted ?

how this is handled by bigger websites?

I dont really understand with your question, so do you mean you want the mail generated automatically once the event actions triggered? so you dont wanna use the cron jobs for generating the emails?

When you are creating new discussion, New event
So you type topic of discussion , you type discussion and then click if not mistaken Create discussion.

The time of spinning wheel from clicking Create Discussion to getting message Discussion has been submitted is taking long time.

For improving the bunch of groups members, we cant do too much right now, we cant change the behavior code in current and next version, because we need re-touch the codes for this and put to somewhere else (like cron jobs) :(

because we have lot of important task so we havent decided the solution for this.

I got the message that jomsocial is not programmed for bigger communities?
We just have a lot if members in the groups.

So how many members we can have in one group?
We have well optimized dedicated server 32 GM RAM 8 core , never went over 40% even while doing backups.

Actually the members can be unlimited, but it will be impact with the server performance too.. actually this is query issue.. you can try set the mysql_timeout with the bigger size
