ISSUE SUMMARY: Set the default time zone for all members to New York
I was trying to set the default timezone for the site to New York and followed this post: www.jomsocial.com/forum/events/34036-default-timezone
but I'm unable to set a default time zone for my users. Did I make the correct changes?

Hi,

please make sure you are using jomsocial 4.2.4
and please goto joomla backend > system > global configuration > server, and set Server Time Zone to your default "zone"

event default timezone will respected that setting.
