Hi,

there is not documentation about event plugin customize.
you need to edit the files under:
/plugins/community/myevents

or do you mean events module?
if yes, you can copy:
default.php from /modules/mod_community_events/tmpl/ to /templates/[your site template]/html/mod_community_events/

this is joomla way to make template override.
