ISSUE SUMMARY:

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Published Slideshow module (thinking I had one event created already, but didn't) So I went to create event.
2 Entered information for event clicked save.
3 Directed me to a 404 error, " DIFFICULTIES PERSIST, PLEASE CONTACT THE SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR OF THIS SITE AND REPORT THE ERROR BELOW..
FILE IS NOT A VALID IMAGE: /HOME/PICTUR55/PUBLIC_HTML/SMILE4MESTUDIO.COM/"
4 Clicked home button. Same error. Everything lead back to this error.
5 I went and disabled the slideshow module. Home page came back up.
6. Under the Hello Me module I clicked on Events (which indicated I had 0 events) went back to the 404 error page.
7. Created a new menu item called My Events and choose to use the index.php?option=com_community&view=events&task=myevents option.
8. Clicked on My Events from the menu and it took me to the Event Index page showing the original event I made.
9. Turned Slideshow module back on. Got 404 Error once again.

Something very buggy going on within the module and event creation. I need to start video recording these errors. Ive been getting them left and right today.

Hi, Arthur.

This was caused by menu misconfiguration.

1. Menu items in JomSocial toolbar should be all set to Public.
2. You had disabled menu item Events in JomSocial toolbar.
3. You duplicated menu item that leads to Events in your main menu - I disabled that menu item... but you may edit it and change it to menu alias that pints to Events in JomSocial toolbar.

Check now - it works fine

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

I didn't disable anything in the Jomsocial Menu. I did create an extra menu as I stated in my steps. But as you can see in the screen shots it was showing NO events in the hello me module even though one was created. Something buggy going on. If it resurface again I'll let you know. I have successfully added two events with the slideshow so far.

I just restored an older copy of my site and did an update with Jomsocial. So I'm in the process of going through all the bugs I've found and adding the hot fixes to this install. However this particular post, you told me the reason for it was because my event menu wasn't set as public. Which is the case. It's not. But after making it public I'm still getting the errors posted earlier.

So I'm going to say once again how I got this error. I first published the slider for upcoming events which is made public.
Then I went and created the FIRST event made on the site. Entered all the info needed. Then I posted it.
It takes me to the page showing what I have linked to this message. Not only does it show this page, it won't allow me to access the home page of the site either.

I have to go into the admin panel, go under events and unpublish the event before the home page shows again. Even after the home page reappears, if I click on event to create a new event, I get another error page.

Events, in the menu of Jomsocial Toolbar is made public.
Slideshow is made public.

So why is this occurring? And even if I made event in the menu registered instead of public, why is that causing the entire home page to shut down? Makes no sense to me.

Not sure how long I will have this link visible but here is the link to it:

Part of the message is hidden for the guests. Please log in or register to see it.

I'll change the first message for server details.

HI, Arthur.

After taking another look I'll say that this has nothing to do with slider module.
But rather with site construction / server (?).
JomSocial frontapge is set as default site page.
I've changed default start page to any different menu item.
Now clicking on events number in Hello me module take correctly to events section.

I'm not sure if this is related with Joomla or JomSocial router.
I assign developer to this thread.

Just to remind you, site under /freelancer/ folder is your DEV site.
Please, don't change folder name or move site to another one as we'll not support it.
