Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
ISSUE SUMMARY:
For any kind of event, using the "Add To Calendar" option, aka Export to iCal will save a file but when trying to add to calendar on local computer, it does not function and gives error message.
This is the case in both JomSocial 4.0.8 and JS 4.0.9
STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1Attend Event
2 Choose "Export to iCal" option
3 Open exported document to add to calendar
RESULT
Error messaging stating Calendar can't read this calendar file.
EXPECTED RESULT
That the event would be added to calendar
No, not fine...still the same, I just attached an exported event to that previous reply. It still does not allow the import of the calendar file exported when choosing the "Add to calendar" option.
"No events was processed.
We can't import events: We can't process your iCal/CSV file"
So it seems to be a bug, I'll report it to our developers.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Then replace original with patched file from package.

Michal, Thanks for the patch, it's greatly appreciated. I see it's for version 4.0.9 but our live site is still running on v4.0.8. Will this 4.0.9 patch create any unforeseen problems being used on v4.0.8? It appears to be working just fine,
There are a few
Privacy related bugs in v4.0.9
so we're waiting on a stable release before applying any updates to either JomSocial or Joomla...
