ISSUE SUMMARY:
Members can see 'Invite Friends' link on Event lists even when the Event Admin did not 'allow participants to invite guests"

1) I am invited to an event, which is 'invitation only'. The event Admin did not allow participants to invite guests

Result
2) On the list of All Events/My Events I can see 'invite' members on each Event listing, even though I shouldn't be able to invite participants (eg event 'Testing Event 2')

3) I can also see 'Request Invitation' on the event list thumbnail and event cover sometimes, even though I have been invited already? (eg Test Event 6)

4) Invite Friends is also showing to me for invitation only Events that I am not even invited to!

But this is contradiction: invitation only event... but without invite friends. How anyone could be invited if you don't want to have invitation button? :) Thus is event is INVITATION ONLY invite button will be always visible... for event OWNER. In other case no one will be able to join event. This is how event is seen by other users: prntscr.com/7vkuxa

Invitation request will be also displayed... unless you accept invitation as this button is displayed to all event non-attendee.

Sorry, I don't think I explained it well. I am not saying that the Event Owner should not see Invite Friend, because of course they should. I am saying that other Members are seeing Invite Friends, even when the Event Owner did not allow participants to invite others.

eg User X sets up private event and invite User Y
User Y sees 'Invite friends' on each Event listing in All Events/My Events
But User Y should not be able to invite other people to the event?

User Y is seeing Invite Friends displayed for events that User Y is not invited to?

We are using 4.0.8. We can't keep up with the updates! But I am wondering if we have a specific bug on our site, which is displaying the Invite Friends button when it shouldn't?

I will edit the first post and maybe you can take a look on our site and see what you see? Thanks a lot.

I checked it again on my test site. When user is invited he sees this: prntscr.com/7wdnxi . So at this stage he could only accept invitation or request another invitation (if e.g deleted previous invitation by mistake).

When I accepted invitation and viewed event I saw this: prntscr.com/7wdobu . There is NO invite option. Invited user can't invite any one else.

So in this case you should upgrade - at least - your test site as if there is a bug in 4.0.8, it's fixed in 4.0.9. Please, give it a try. We'll inspect your site in case that even after upgrade to most recent version you have this issue.
