Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
Say No to invitation after saying yes - see Request Invitation, but can't
ISSUE SUMMARY:
If you say 'Yes' to a party (invitation only), but then later change your answer to 'No', then you will see "Request Invitation' appear on the Event list and Event Cover. But you do not need this option as you have already been invited, and you can still click Yes again.
- If you do click 'request Invitation' you are told "You have already request an invitation for this event, or, you are already an attendee", so the Request Invitation button is useless in this circumstance.
- Also, the English in that pop-up is bad and should say "You have already requestED an invitation for this event, or, you are already an attendee".
STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Create invitation only event
2 Invite user X
3User X says Yes
4 Then changes answer to No
5
RESULT 'Request Invitation' appears unnecessarily when you say No
EXPECTED RESULT
BROWSER
Could you try again on JomSocial 4.0.8 (it was released today). I followed your steps:
1. User A create invitation only event
2. User A invited User B
3. User A logged out
4. User B logged in
5. User B accepted invitation from notification area
6. User B browsed to event and clicked "Not going"
If user change his mind again, he/she may click on "Not going" and change it back to "Going".
Please confirm if my replication steps are correct and if this work for you the same way.
Thank you for pointing out language mistake ;)
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Is the language improvement being implemented in 4.1?
I found another language error with 'Request invitation'
"You are requesting the invitation of the event, 'X'. Click 'Yes' to continue." Better English would say "You are requesting AN invitation TO the event, 'X'. Click 'Yes' to continue."
Please can you put forward that language improvement too. Do you have your language files checked by someone with English as their First language before publishing?
All improvements should be also present in JomSocial 4.1.
Yes, Paul Smith is native English speaker (Australian).
I'll pass your language suggestion to our developers.
