ISSUE SUMMARY:
If you have created an event and you are selecting friends to invite, but you click outside the pop up box by mistake, the box will disappear and you cannot get it back. If you have spent some time going through choosing who to Select this is very irritating. I would expect the pop up to remain as another window that you can get back to using ctrl tab. But it doesn't. The same happens with the private message pop up from Profile ie it disappears if you click outside while you are writing the message, and what you have written is completely lost.

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Create event
2 start to select friends to invite
3 click outside pop up
4
5
RESULT pop up is lost completely so can't get back to list of people already selecte
EXPECTED RESULT pop up should remain as another window that you can get back to
BROWSER

This is default behavior from us, and user error from you.. so you should avoid to click close/click outside the box before the invitation process is finishing.

Yes well our user doesn't know that it is your default behaviour, because that is not standard computer behaviour. If they go to check something in another window (which is why windows were invented!!) then they lose what they were doing. Come on!!

If a user can make any error like that you should change your default behaviour.......really.....

I'm sorry but Dimas is right in this. All windows within JomSocial are displayed as modal windows. This is default behavior for modal windows - not only in JomSocial but everywhere - to close when you click outside window (on grayed out area). Modal windows doesn't work like windows in... Windows. You're right saying "because that is not standard computer behavior" as they are NOT "computer" windows. They will not stay opened while you click something else in background. If you want to do something else meanwhile you have opened modal window - you should open new TAB in browser.

Click on "Launch demo modal" button - modal window will appear. Then click outside modal window (on grayed out area) and modal window will disappear.

This wasn't invented or designed by us. This is default for modal windows. It was implemented to make easy to close modal window as close button (x) may be not always visible. And also on modal devices it maybe just too small and uncomfortable to click.

So I'm sorry but this won't be changed as it belongs to web standard.
