I'm noticing in my tests that when attempting to cross-post to another platform that the only meta data being populated is the site's root meta data. What steps are necessary to undertake for things like event information and group information to be populated when cross-posted to another platform like Facebook? I can't seem to locate any JS documentation.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

Login as a regular user
Open an event.
Copy URL of Event.
Post to timeline in another platform like Facebook.

RESULT:
The Site's root information is shown instead of the event information in the example provided.

EXPECTED RESULT:
I expect to post in the other platform (Facebook) to show the event information as in the example provided.

OCCURS ON:
Joomla 3.3.6 + JomSocial 3.2.1.6

TEMPLATE:
Socialize (Jomsocial)

OPERATING SYSTEM:
Windows 7, Windows 8.1

Hi Jared,

Because you set your site as closed community, so FB server can't fetch the data from your group page :)

I hope it helps

Thank you

Thanks. That is what I thought but wanted to be sure there wasn't a way to push this data along anyway.

Hi Dimas,

I went ahead and altered some menu items so that groups and events can have public access. I attempted to share on FB and again the site default meta data is what is pushed, not the info from the group or event.

You can test with this link - opensourceliving.org/index.php/social/ev...eekend-in-the-desert

What do you think?

Hi Jared,

ehm, weird, I think is only happens on your site, maybe caused by security issue or I am no sure where its coming from.. but well, i tried to share event on our community site to FB and seems working fine, FB can fetch the title of that event, eg. www.jomsocial.com/community/events/viewe...l-4-0-stable-release

thank you

Okay. Thanks for taking another look and testing on your side. I will look more into JFBC Facebook OpenGraph Tags to see if there are any conflicts.
