JomSocial Active Socialize Expired

Hi! I enabled Recurring Event at "JomSocia > Configuration > Event" but my site doesn't show recurring event option.
Do I have to install something besides setting saying yes to "Enable Recurring Event"?

Another question is, is it possible to change order of event categories?
I want to set categories by the country name but I might want to add more after a while, not at the end of the category list but middle of the category list.

Hi.

You probably add events via post box - there is NO recurring setting. You need to access Events in order to create recurring event.
Here you can see "Repeat" option for events: prntscr.com/4phf18 during Event creation.

But with enabled SEF you're not able to access events as you have menu misconfiguration.
You multiplicated JomSocial frontpage item so now system takes menu item with higher ID -> from Japanese menu. So when I'm in English I can't access Events.

You need to have ONLY ONE JomSocial frontpage menu item. The rest should be menu alias that points to JomSocial frontpage item.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Michal, thank you so much for your help!

I understood the part I need to make recurring event through Events, but I'm not really clear about what you are saying about setting menu.

You pointed "You need to have ONLY ONE JomSocial frontpage menu item. The rest should be menu alias that points to JomSocial frontpage item."

Does that mean I can't use multilingua switcher to use Events module? If not, could you give me some more specific advise to make it work?

I just started using joomla and jomsocial, and not accustomed so much. I'm so sorry to bother you....

Hi.

Ok, so I'll try to explain egain.

Enable SEF and browse your site with any other language than Japanese e.g English. Now when in English try to reach Events in order to create an event. You can't and you should be redirected.

It's because you have 3 JomSocial menu items (that display frontpage). System takes higher menu item ID (from Japanese menu) to display JomSocial pages.... but when you're in any other language on site you can reach certain pages e.g events.

Also menu item aliases can't be home items in menu. So you need to mark other element to be a home item in language menu and then change Community items yo aliases.

Thanks Michal!
I didn't know about SEF setting... I just changed SEF setting to NO, and looks like it's working fine.

About the question I made in first topic "Changing order of event categories", could you tell me about it, too?
Is it possible to change order of categories once I set?

For example,

1 Australia
2 Brazil
3 Canada
4 Dominica
5 Egypt

to

1 Australia
2 Brazil
3 Canada
4 Costa Rica ← added
5 Dominica
6 Egypt

Hi.

Event categories are sorted alphabetically and without core file hacks it can't be changed.

Core hacks are not recommended nor supported as they may not working with future JomSocial releases and/or cause issues that will be not supported. Users with core files hack refuse to upgrade their installation to keep those hacks and they are stuck with outdated and unsupported versions.
