Before my upgrade to the latest version, no event icon would show for users without event creation permission. All worked.
But now, my registered users have the event icon in the chat box. I have to remove them, but how?
So I just need to remove the event creation link in the chat box for registered users.
I tried making an ACL Rule to remove it for registered users, but all it does is prevent creation (without showing my filled out description why.) so that doesn't work. I know I set each profile correctly as it worked before upgrading.
My user profiles:
Public (Unable to create events)
Registered Users (Unable to create events)
Service Provider Users (Able to create events)
Super Users (Able to do anything)
Thank you,
Robert
Hi Robert,
I suggest you use the multipleprofile for this instead you hack the code..with it you can setup which registered user do you want to "Allow Event Creation" or not.. I think if you use multi profile that is wise solution :)
thank you
Hi Robert,
Can you update your Jomsocial to the latest version 3.2.1.1? because I checked this in my local with newest version and everything is working fine.
thank you
You guys just updated, and I just updated accordingly. Unless 3.2.1.1 has a specific bug fix for my issue, then upgrading will do nothing in solving the problem, while it certainly will make me once again.. change these settings:
List of what to do after updating JomSocial Component:
Hi Robert,
Please check again, I just fix the issue.. I provide the temporary solution inside your override template.
The root of this issue caused by the Javascript, I need ask the Javascript developer for this, but he is on vacation for 2 weeks :(
But my code should work fine...
Thank you
You UPGRADED the JomSocial component!!
I told you if it didn't have a fix I didn't want to to do it because it overwrote files one is a custom file from another component!
So by upgrading my JS you lost my customized files!
Now I am seeing yet more problems within the site, JomSocial customize profile fields, are showing up for registered user when they are clearly hidden and only used for profile service provider. This profile set up was working as intended before the upgrade!
Sorry to be so reactionary, but I am under an extended deadline to make this site work and I have other things to concentrate on beside the JomSocial portion of the site.
Thanks,
Hi Robert,
From what i can see in DImas's reply he made a code change as an overide in your override template. He didn't upgrade the component, so there would be no loss of customization. Dimas is now on holidays so to get this resolved for you i will pass this onto our developer Albertus that can continue to resolve this for you
Yes from his reply, I also took it as that but in addition to the css code he wrote on my custom.css file he upgraded the component because it now says the latest version is installed and I had to redo everything I said I had to if it got updated.
Hi Robert,
Dimas is now on holidays, so I will handle this topic.
Event creation issue has been resolved? I just want make sure about this.
FYI:
- until now jomsocial still not support joomla ACL.
- about event creation at multiple profile, must set to No. so only admin can do event creation
Regards,
Albert
