Invite Friends By Email Option in Events Page

Hello All,

We are using Joomla 2.5.20 & JomSocial 3.2.0.7.

We can't able to use "Invite Friends" by email option from Events section.

When I try to invite someone by email.
Event -> Invite Friends -> Invite by Email (Given Email address) -> Added Personal Message and Clicked on "Send Invitations" button, It's giving the error like "Please enter an email or select one of your friends from the list". But we have given email address already. What's the problem?

Please provide us with working administrator credentials.
I can't login to your site.
Please, edit your first post and add credentials to corresponding fields.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Ok, I saw it on your site...
In settings everything seems to be fine...
I assign developer to this thread to take a look.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.

Hi Anand,

currently your jomsocial template still using jf_social_js_32


that template is a 3rd party. please try using default jomsocial template, we had a lot changes there. the 3rd party template not follow our latest changes. Because the invitation form already different now.

I suggest you to contact jf_social_js_32 template provider. maybe they have some updates

Hello Albertus,

We have tried with your default template, we couldn't find "Invite Friends by Email" option anywhere. We have cross checked with your demo site (demo.joomsocial.com), there also we didn't see the option.
Check the screenshot.

In system.php file we saw one if condition.
path: /public-html/components/com_community/controllers/system.php

if (!empty($values) && $methods[0] != 'groups' && $methods[0] != 'events') {
//Some script here
}

$methods[0] != 'groups' && $methods[0] != 'events' - What is the logic behind here & if we remove these two conditions what happens ?

Hi Anand,

at our latest version we already not using invite friends by email any more. because event invite must friends only. so we decided to using friends list only.
