I'm based in the uk. When jomsocial asks for a location and I enter birmingham I get birmingham in United states. I only have events in the uk. How can I solve this?

Also I want the ability to search for events by UK postcode and search by x mile radius. Is there such a module to search by uk postcode?

In field location you can enter full address - not only city name.
So I entered Birmingham B10 and it was marked on map very precise :)

You can search by location. You need to create a menu item that link to JomSocial search page:

I can't find that search on the site.

Could I create a module comprising of a text box with postcode and another drop down box with miles to do a radius search... ie I could specify all events within a 20 mile radius of a UK postcode or city name?

I would still like the map to only search uk. And only bring up uk cities if you put in just birmingham you still get the united states

You can create link to Event Search in your menu. Just create new menu item in JomSocial toolbar and link menu types list look for "Search Events".

Or You can use "Search" button when in Events (search is performed only by title here but it will take you to advanced search page)>

And finally, how do I limit the search to the uk. When users create an event I want them to be able to type in a citys name but I need to restrict this to the uk.

For instance at the moment if I enter birmingham. I get birmingham in the US not UK. If I type in Walsall. I get walsall in the UK.

Basically I only want to be able to set locations of events in the UK. Can we use birmingham as the example please.
