I tried the solution from this thread:

... but it was not working on my site.

If I activate HTML for text fields (in Jomsocial/configuration) the description field is missing completely. If I activate it I may enter plain text but without any editor functionality. I would like to show an editor so users may use HTML for the events description.

I checked your site at create/edit event page. Nothing problem with the description, the editor shown normal
