JomSocial Expired

I once had a JS subscription for a domain/website that is not used anymore. Now I am part of a planned non-profit organistation where I would like to setup JomSocial as part of this organisations website. The organisation has not gotten any name yet, and thus we have no working domain. Still we would like to start developing the website locally.

Is it possible for me to renew the subscription and put "localhost" in the domain information box, and later change this when we have decided what domainname to use?
Is it then possible to have this subscription transferred to the non-profit organisation, as I will not personally be using JomSocial for any other purpose?

Hi Oste,

Renewing
You can renew the old account at a discounted rate by logging into the existing account and renewing from there.

Installing
You can add the new domain into the installed domains section, because it's localhost just enter test.com
In the ijoomla installer copy and paste your license number into the section in the ijoomla installer.

Once you are ready to launch your site please post a support ticket here referring to this post and i can update the supported domain to a live one for you.

A very important note i want to mention
We do not offer support for localhost installations at all. We are happy to answer general questions, but detailed specific bugs or issues you are having cannot be answered without connecting to the site. We also find that often localhosts are not configured to the same standard as a a web hosting server is. Because of this if you have a bug or site specific issue, the site would need to be uploaded to a live web server for us to help you further

Hi Paul

Thanks for you answer. However, I had another question that has not been answered: When we lauch the non-profit organisation website, am I then able to transfer my JomSocial subscription to this organisation? I ask because of the accounting responsibility of this organisation to be able to document their expences?

Hi Aaron,

Each account is linked to 1 website for support for the duration of the active license, you can install it on as many sites as you wish but for the period of the license you purchase the supported domain cannot be changed unless it is the same site.

The only thing that you cannot change yourself is the supported domain. so if you renew today and your account has siteone.com as the supported domain then you can change it to a new supported site by asking us here. If during the license period you build a totaly new site then we will only support siteone.com. sitetwo.com would need a separate licence because it is a different site

Each license term is support for one site only

Hi Paul

Again thanks for you answer. I understand the support part, but what about the accounting part for my non-profit organisation? I hope you understand that they are paying this in order to have their website buildt as fast as possible, so the website can be ready when the organisation is formally registered with the authorities? The point is, the non-profit organisation want to be able to deduct this subscription as a formal expence, thus they also need to document what they are paying for. (I am using my personal money to buy a JomSocial subscription for this organisation, I want my money back from them, so we have to "switch" so they get the licence and I get the money, and in order for them to pay me money they need at receipe. Thus I suggest that the non-profit organisation get THIS SUBSCRIPTION formally transferred to them as soon as the organisation is formally registered with the authorities.

Is this question very hard to understand, or am I simply not capable of formulating the question so to be understood and get an answer?

Hi Oeste,

If you renew now I can give you a custom invoice for that transaction. Then you can use that invoice to get your money from that organization. Something we can't do is to sell you a license and move it to a different account because a single license will be able to two different owners. In this case I suggest you to register a new account for this organization and proceed with the purchase of a new license there. But the invoice will be for them, not for you. It's something you have to discuss with them.
