I would like a refund of my Jomsocial purchase. I've been trying to get email working for over a week and there's been no progress. I've been asking for help on the support forums and the solution I've been given does not work. Documentation of Jomsocial is not helpful either. There are missing pages of documentation that simply say they will be added later. The Jomsocial Hero video series is also unhelpful. Videos barely explain how Jomsocial works. Support is also slow. The fact that I've been struggling with the same issue for over a week is very disappointing. Please refund my purchase and cancel my subscription. Thank you.

The email issue that i have seen on your site looks like it would be quite simple to resolve and the post where you asked for help has been marked as resolved (it shouldn't be) and i will be looking into why it is . The support you have received is far from what i expect from our team and i will be following up with the team member today

In regards to the email issue
Jomsocial follows the email settings of Joomla, so setting up the email configuration in joomla will in turn work for Jomsocial. Let me explain how to set it up

In joomla administrator >global configuration administrator/index.php?option=com_config click on the server tab then on the bottom right you will see the mail settings box. you should be able to set it to php mailer add a valid email address that resides on your server then save the changes, this should be all that is required. I see that you have chosen smtp mailer and by default a lot of hosting companies block the port it uses by default as a security measure so it won't work, but this depends on your host

Why i am telling you this is even if you remove jomsocial your site will still not send email so you really need to resolve this issue regardless of using jomsocial or not.

I am happy to assist you further with this if you are still unsure of how to get this working, if you are using a mainstream hosting provider for your web site then this should be a very easy thing to resolve

The problem you reported is related to how Joomla! works and not how our script works. The documentation and video tutorials are the same other customers are using with success.
