good morning guys, I was having problems with my jomsocial, i guess because it is the 4.24 version, so i purchased socilize 2 and i cant figure out how to make it work like this current template without adding my older version of jomsocial, please help, why cant i just use socialize by itself

i was wanting your opinion on some easy mp3 players to add to my website some i dont need to do any short codes i dont know how to do the php stuff that well. And i would like my members to be able to upload their own music to the mp3 player also.... Any Suggestions?

Please check this addons www.jomsocial.com/addons/multimedia/crexplayer-mp3 I am not sure its still working on latest Jomsocial since that is old plugin, another option you can use 3rd party Joomla extenstions like

Would anyone know how to get the videos that are uploaded out of the Pending section and to show up on the timelines

Michał Hi, Rob, they are "pending" as they need to be processed and converted. So you need to have configured two things: correct path to FFMEG on your server (it needs to be in at leas on year old version... in most hostings they have it in very old version that won't work with JS) and cron job that will fore processor from time to time (you may also run cron job manually in Backend -> Components ->... Can someone tell me what the tool bar at the top of the page is called? it's at the very very top and has the search bubble, the log out button, and the users name. How do i add that to my website, i love the look, and how it shows the aviator with the users name.... I want that on my site....

a Guest I use the jChat social Joomla component, it does just about everything including and not limited to mutli-user video streaming and Fartbook-style chat bar, with ticket support and chatroom capability. Alex Smirnov Rob yep, like @[[5481247:contact:Zurkster]] said, you may want to check if your /tmp folder is writable for your system. Imo, your best bet is to contact your hosting provider and check with them why you can not install any addons for your Joomla. Just my 2c. 9 years ago

a Guest @Alex I wouldn't bother going to the hosting company, many shared hosting solutions do not provide FTP access at a permissions level, however I found using extensions.joomla.org/extension/extplorer FTP browser most helpful for setting folder permissions on ANY Joomla installation without FTP access.

Ugh why does working with Jomsocial have to be so damn difficult, i will never get any members to my social network, becuz i can't seem to get all the good modules and plugins to work. Why is there soooo much red tape to just get a good functioning website going, of course i already know my site will never ever be as fast, nice, and big as facebook, but all my user keep going back to facebook... i was wondering if anyone knows how to search for other things from the website, i am a big OKC Thunder fan, and i would like to be able to search them from my website, and allow score updates and things like that, kinda like facebook, when you type in a serch, there a bunch of external options, basically other sites.
