i ll find it so annoying that because i ve purchased an old version of jomsocial i am not entitled to see any documentation related to new versions

But you can see new version here (4.1) and test latest stable version on demo.jomsocial.com (4.0.8)

the issue is the following I wanna know if i can update to the newest version from my old version without losing members..... and that only appears on the doc which i want to read before buying the component

eric, I think Jomsocial doesn't control your member. Jomsocial is only component for social. Joomla is controller your members.
