Can I install JomSocial on localhost or multiple domains?
Yes, JomSocial is GPL software that can be installed on an unlimited number of domains. Your freedom is guaranteed 
Can it run on MSSQL?
No, JomSocial can only run on MySQL/MySQLi databases.
Can JomSocial run as a standalone community without Joomla CMS?
No, JomSocial requires Joomla to be installed on your server first; it is built exclusively for Joomla.
What versions of Joomla CMS are supported?
Since 07 January 2013, JomSocial 2.8 requires at least Joomla 2.5.6 or Joomla 3.0.2; however, full support for Joomla 3 is still a work in process and official technical support for this version is not provided. Support for Joomla 1.5 is only available in version 2.6 and lower.
I already have a Joomla site. If I install JomSocial, will it work with my template and existing users?
Yes. JomSocial uses native Joomla User object and thus existing users will automagically have their own JomSocial profiles. It will also work with your Joomla template, as JomSocial is just another extension in Joomla.
How many users can JomSocial support?
JomSocial does not impose any limit on the number of users you can have in your community; however, please note that a growing community will always consume more resources over time.
Can I create a membership-based site with JomSocial?
Yes, but not out of the box. JomSocial does not have built-in membership/subscription facilities to allow this; however, our growing list of extension developers have come up with a number of high quality subscription tools that would meet the most demanding requirements. View our addons.
Does JomSocial support Joomla ACL?
No, JomSocial does not support any form of Joomla ACL at this point in time.
Can I continue using JomSocial on my site after my subscription expires?
Yes, absolutely. JomSocial will continue to work exactly as usual; however, you will not be able to download new updates or obtain support without an active subscription.
I do not need support and updates, so can I download the version that I bought earlier after my subscription ends?
No, the download area is only available for active subscription holders. We advise you to download the last version of JomSocial before your subscription expires.
Can I download older versions of JomSocial?
Yes, provided that your subscription is still active. Using this link you can download any version of JomSocial. Just make sure that you know the exact version number you want to download, and use it to replace the X.Y.Z.
