Hi,
Is there any way to change the way the member profile search filters are saved? At the moment when I select Menu it loads all my joomla internal menus as well as the community ones (I don't want users to be able to add to any of those). Ideally I would like a menu link on the toolbar called Filters, and under that my filters are automatically saved - is this possible? as otherwise the filters cannot be used on my site. I have visions of hundreds of new filters on my main website menu bar :)
Secondly, under access levels it again lists all the joomla access levels, when really it should be like elsewhwere in Jomsocial i.e. something like Public, Private, Me and my Contacts.
Last thing, is there any way to delete filters once created?
These filters are pretty powerful tools, so I would hate not being able to use them.
How have others got round this? Maybe its just that I don't understand them enough?
Any help would be most appreciated.
Mel
Hi Melanie,
this feature only available for admin, registered members wont have permission for it. So as admin you can modify the menu which be created on adv. search from Joomla Menu Manager, you can set to Public, Private, Me etc, and you also can put the menu type to main menu, filter, jomsocial toolbar, ect..
I hope my answer can solve your questions.
cheers!
Hi Dimas,
yes it does thanks.
One question, I have 3 profile types and I am trying to create a permanent filter for one of them. I have gone to advanced search, selected the profile type, clicked on search and then on save filter, added it to my menu. Then I click on the menu expecting to just see users of that profile type but it still displays all members.
Am I not able to create a filter for just one profile type without any other criteria?
Mel
Hi Mel,
That is a bug, thank you for checking it.
cheers!
this issue will be fixed in next release..
Hi Dimas,
I have just installed latest release 4.1.3 and I am still having problems with this.
When I go to advanced search and click on the Profile type then click search, it displays the correct filtered list. However when I click on save filter, enter the new filter details, then view the new filter from my newly created menu, it displays all mambers and not the filtered list.
Is there any way you can tell me how to manually fix this until the next release is published as really need this feature to work urgently now for a specific event we have lined up in a few days.
Kind regards
Mel
well, the title is "All Members" but actually the list is the filtered members.. this is lilbit buggy, I will ask to the developer for this..
thank you
Hi Dimas,
Sorry for long delay responding - I thought I had replied.
Unfortunately I still cannot get this saved filter to work as expected. I do an advanced search for a specific profile type, I save the search to the jomsocial menu for registered users, I click on that new menu link and it returns all members.
Can you please tell me how you fixed it so I can apply the changes? I am on the very latest version of Jomsocial.
Mel
Hi Mel,
Please you update to the latest version 4.1.4 for fixing this, if this issue still happens on 4.1.4. I need your FTP access, will inspect the code then.
Oh ya, your backend access is not working now, please check it as well
thank you!
Hi Dimas,
I am already on the latest version. I have updated access details for you to see. The last saved filter I tried to create is called Investors Directory on the jomsocial toolbar.
If you create a filter on profile type |Investor you will see around 3 members. If you save it etc. then open it, you will see it displays all members.
Mel
Hi Mel,
Please update your backend access, and add the FTP access. I will check it.
thank you!
