Hello,
I want different template for home and profile page so that both the layouts can be changed separately not affecting each other. I tried duplicating the Socialize template and then assigned it to Home Page and other to profile page.
Still I see that both the pages are using the same template.css. As a result I am not able to make the layout different.
Can you please help me on this where Ia m going wrong.

Hi, Kailasa.
That is correct and this is designed in Joomla!. Duplicated template are using the same files but different settings (if template allow to have settings).
So you may use duplicated templates but you will not customize their css file as they use one and the same.
So how do I do that Michal?
I want the left sidebar width to be different in home page and profile page.
Can I do this?

Hi, Kailasa.
The only way to achieve it would be to create a real copy of whole template... that is changing template detail in xml and install it literally as a new template.
Hello Michal,
I have not assigned my Socialize template to Home but still it is showing the same template of light-blue theme. Also it was working well before I updated Jomsocial. And also regarding the duplication of template, it will create errors in it if I miss something. Kindly suggest.

Hi, Kailasa.
As I said - the best results you'll achieve when you assign separated Templates (nod copied done in Joomla!) to menu items.
Assigning copy when it uses original css is useless.
Hi, Kailasa.
I'm sorry but this is out of scope of our technical support.
Please, search in Web or in forum.joomla.org.
Hi Michal,
There is a facility in Socialize to assign different template to different menus. I have attached a screenshot for the same.
Can you please tell me that it will work or not?

Hi, Kailasa.
It will work - e.g Socialize will be used on some menu items... and e.g Protostar on other.
But if you want to use Socialize on one menu item and copy of Socialize with different look on another... then no as even copies of certain template use the same css files.
So you need to have two separated (not cloned in joomla!) copies of template - literally it need to be installed twice (obviously with different name).
Please, read this:

Hello Michal,
I checked one of my backups and noticed one thing. Kindly see the screenshots for the same.
I tried duplicating the template but even that is not working. Please guide me through this.

HI, Kailasa.
You may use copied template with different theme e.g light-green. Settings are kept but css file are still taken from root.
So you have two copies of Socialize with different settings and assigned to different menu items.
This is not an issue but your settings :)
Hello Michal,
I already tried doing that. I changed the theme and then tried to assign template but still I am facing the same problem :(
I even tried assigning Beez3 Default template to my Home page but still it is taking the same Socialize template. It is doing nothing but selecting only Socialize template for everything.

Hi.
So you have 3 copies of the same template. make sure you didn't assigned your template more than once to certain menu item. Also one of your template is assigned to English. Just check if you don't have mess with assignment.
