After Update to JS 3.2.1 (from 3.1.1)

When trying to open uploaded videos from the activity stream I'm taken to a blank page, with a request for checking the web adress //ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm#

The address bar of the browser shows:
javascript:joms.walls.showVideoWindow('304')

Appreciate every help on this strange behaviour.

i have been logged in into your site and check about your issue but i can replicate it.. did you mean this video "Buchvorstellung & Lesung von "Tour Mal du Coeur" that you can't open ? or maybe i missed something, please let me know which video you wantto open.. explain step by step how to replicate you problem will be great :)

the problem appears with uploaded videos only, such as

- Buchvorstellung & Lesung von "Tour Mal du Coeur"
- Prêk in Ohrakel (1) Leopard 14.02.2014 SPH Bandcontest in Ingolstadt

I've played around with different solutions, posted in the forum. These solutions were not directly related to my problem. However, the method proposed in the posting below at least allowed me to open those uploaded videos in a new browser window. But, as a bad side effect, videos won't play in popup windows anymore. When applying the solution, each video link (uploaded, youtube, vimeo) opens in a new window, which not only fills my screen, but dramatically slows down jomsocial speed. So, it's not a real workaround. However, it may help to isolate the error.

Before you change how to open your video, i can't replicate your issue.. i can opened and played - Buchvorstellung & Lesung von "Tour Mal du Coeur" - video from your frontpage.. so you have been changed how your site played video from that link? i can close this ticket ?

Hi David,

I presume you played the video from the video module on the right side. And indeed, this method works also for me.
But, when trying to play the video directly from the activity stream it fails. I'm taken to a blank page with the error message, as described earlier.

I haven't changed anything in the code or elsewhere.

now I see. It's browser specific.

Video works fine in Google Chrome and Safari.
But returns blank page + error message in Internet Explorer 10 and Firefox.

By the way, since days I can't reach www.jomsocial.com from Germany. Neither directly, nor through google, and regardless of the browser I use. When trying to connect to your site I'm told that there is none such web address. Sometimes this changes to "the dns address can't be resolved". The only way to reach you is to use a fake IP (Hide IP).

Sorry for bothering you with this issue. But I couldn't find a forum category, where this problem would fit in.

You have changed the way to play video right ? :D i tried to play video using FF but it opened in new tab :) hmmm about jomsocial.com i can't said this is about our site because our site admin never told us about this, let me raise this issue to our site admin :)

Can you tell mw your real IP ? i can see your IP on every post but its always changed, i think you used proxy..

If nothing left, can i mark this as resolve ?

at the moment I am only able to connect to jomsocial.com through virtual IPs (currently 202.152.19.100, Indonesia).

My current real IP is 188.194.98.56, allocated by my internet provider in Berlin, Germany. However, it is impossible to reach jomsocial.com through this real IP (and other IPs allocated by my provider).

In the meantime I have asked other colleagues in Germany to try to connect to you. But they encounter the same problem. When trying to connect to your site like me they are told that there is no such web address.

PS: Of course, you can mark this ticket as resolved. The more important issue to me at the moment seems the connection problem, which makes it very difficult to work with jomsocial.

Hi David,

I've traced the connection to jomsocial.com. Tracert locates the connection problem for: lw-dc3-dist15.rtr.liquidweb.com. I presume this is the host server of jomsocial.com. All connection requests for whatever reasons are timed out by this host server.

You will find the results in the attachment. (For your information: German "Zeitberschreitung der Anforderung" ---> English: "time out for request"). Maybe this is helpful for your system admin in order to identify the problem.

This is reply from our admin site : "Hi David, the first IP he used to post the message was banned on our server. I removed the ban and he could try again to see if the problem persists. Anyway, the other IP he used in other messages were ok. Could you ask him to try again using the real ip?"
