Flip spoke to a customer service rep earlier and they told him that we needed to upgrade the PHP - which makes no sense to us :(
Is there a hosting provider y'all recommend that has all the necessities for JomSocial - that we can afford? :)
Right now, we have anywhere from 4-9 websites that we're working on.
The money we use for the sites comes from Flip's disability check, so we're limited on funds.
I am not to sure which ones are a "sure thing" with video conversion. A lot of people that do video conversion use VPS (there own server) so they can upgrade and install anything they need to. but that comes at a cost. Most shared hosting companies have the basic features to keep the costs down, not all, but a lot. what you are looking for is a host that runs FFMPEG 2 or higher
Another way to do it is you can place your videos on you tube or vimeo for example, then you can use the video feature on your site without the need for your own conversion. Uploading videos will also consume space so without knowing the specs of your hosting this may fill up quickly.
