Just got a reply from my host saying that they cannot update as they are on the latest version compatible for their server setup:-(
I have tried setting up S3 and Zencoder but nothing seems to be happening. I think the cron job is not completed but I am not sure. All logins needed to explorer my problem is in my initial posting in this thread. Please help me out here...
I have checked everything several times and cannot locate anything missing or wrong.
However, my host now informs me that they do not have mime magic library installed!!! This I guess means that I need to change host if I want to make S3/Zencoder setup work?
Do I need mime magic library in case I find a host that supports FFMPEG?
1. For upload video you need install FFMPEG correctly from the original source of FFMPEG
2. For S3 you need install the mime magic library
Well, actually we dont recommened use those features if you are using shared hosting, actually those features quite powerfull sometimes can be done in shared hosting due the setting limitation.
I now it will not help you sell Jomsocial but you might be more precise about this not "recommending" video uploads on shared hosting systems. Video uploads was actually one of the reasons I bought JS in the first place, but I never read anywhere that you don't recomment it on shared environments.
I now why you don't now, but it took me a long time to figure it out - many other users have the same experience - the numerous threads regarding this in the forum proves my point.
