JomSocial Active Socialize Expired

It sounds as if I will have to find a way to manage registration until this new feature is re-implemented. Either I will need to do a manual check of email addresses before approving new members or introduce an interim profile that limits access to some site features until an email address can be confirmed.
I still do not understand why this native Joomla function is no longer available with this version of JomSocial. It would be useful if there could be some documentation about how user registration and activation now works in JomSocial with the different Joomla options available. Is the activation token sent out if the Joomla Global Configuration setting for New User Account Activation is set to "SELF"?
The current documentation at documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Explaining_User_Profile says that JomSocial will provide a template to support the Joomla registration and activation process and that the registration emails will be "... strictly handled by Joomla itself. "
My concern is that if this is treated as a new feature request then it may take longer for it to be implemented than it would if treated as a bug. In the meantime I imagine that there are a number of site Admins who still assume that the activation token is still being sent out as part of the process because there is no documentation (that I can find) that says it has changed.
Is there any indication of timescale for the introduction of this new feature so I can decide how much effort I should put in to researching alternatives?

Thanks Albertus - that was very quick.
I have installed and tested and that seems to have fixed the problem.
Thank you for resolving so quickly.
Will this be incorporated into the core product at next release or should I install it as an override feature?
Best regards

Just to clear the confusion, this is the first time we actually change this feature.

JomSocial had admin approval functionality way before joomla did, so i'm not sure where did you came up with the idea that we changed anything.

Until Albertus gave you the link, the feature was working the same as it was working for almost 7 years.

- Don't say feature not working. Instead, explain what you tried and what was the outcome.
- When you think you found the bug, try to replicate it on a fresh Joomla.
- When looking for support always provide temporary Super Administrative access to your site. We will ask for it anyway.
- Help yourself and read documentation which can give you answers to almost all questions you may have
