Instead of removing it, can I change the code so it points to the 'my groups' link? Do you know what the code change would be for that?

yes that is possible you only need change that code to be like this :

$this->addSubmenuItem('index.php?option=com_community&view=groups', JText::_('COM_COMMUNITY_GROUPS_MY_GROUPS'), '', SUBMENU_RIGHT);

That works Dimas, but can it point to the user's created groups instead of all the groups? Like below will point to only the users created and joined groups.

$this->addSubmenuItem('index.php?option=com_community&view=groups&task=mygroups&userid=', JText::_('COM_COMMUNITY_GROUPS_MY_GROUPS'), '', SUBMENU_RIGHT);

to the created groups it impossible, because the created groups already included inside my groups page (+ joined group as well)

So 'My Groups' includes both the group that user created and the groups that user joined, but there is not a way to view just the groups the user created?

yes, you right.. we dont have page for showing only your "created" group

Ok thank you Dimas. For future consideration to developers, it seems to me more logical that if I click on 'My Groups' it should take me to the groups that I've created and maybe a 'Joined Groups' link that goes to the groups that I have joined. 'My Groups' elicits ownership, so I think Joined Groups would make more sense.

thank you for your idea, I really appreciate that..meanwhile I set this as "feature request" personally i cant promise this is will be implemented very soon, since our developer too busy with another awesome features for version 3.3.
