I insisted on sharing expenses when my now-husband and I were dating and I think it set a nice precedent for our relationship. After all, we're still together after many years!

it's a very individual and private matter. why go all academic on it? leave dating to people, if you analyze, measure and calculate everything there's no more 'magic'.
