JomSocial 4.2 has been in development for a few months, and we are thrilled to tell you what’s happening.
We’ve packed a number of improvements into JomSocial 4.2. I’ll tell you all about them in a future post. In this post, I want to focus on the most notable change: the complete removal of Joomla 2.5 legacy code and support.
We’re thrilled to announce the immediate availability of JomSocial 4.1.6. This is the sixth update to version 4.1 of the most advanced Joomla Community Extension in the world.
The JomSocial 4.1.6 update is now available to all users running JomSocial 4.1 and to sites with JomSocial 4.0.
Version 4.1.6 is a bugfix release but it also includes some under-the-hood improvements to our automated testing. These enhancements ensure that you always receive the most stable core code we can provide. For a full list of changes, please read our changelog.
Today we released JomSocial 4.1.5 to the public, the fifth update to version 4.1 of the best Joomla Community Extension in the world.
The JomSocial 4.1.5 update is now available as an update to all users running JomSocial 4.1 and as an upgrade for sites running JomSocial 4.0.
If you ever suggested an idea for JomSocial development, you have most likely been aware that we used Uservoice for over seven years. All those years, we had an enjoyable ride with this platform and came up with most of our new features by reading your suggestions and paying attention to which ones got the most votes, but it always felt like it is a part of some other system, and administering it was proven to be hard process.
Version 4.1.3 is a bugfix release which addresses all the bugs reported in the forum. It also brings back more control over events and introduces a new banning feature. You can see the full list of fixes and improvements in our 4.1.3 changelog.
Version 4.1.2 adds the photo uploading feature to the editor, and includes bug fixes reported since the previous version.

Today Joomla released an important security patch and all Joomla users should immediately upgrade. This is a security release for the 3.x series of Joomla which addresses a critical security vulnerability. JomSocial recommend that you update your sites immediately. This release only contains the security fixes; no other changes have been made compared to the Joomla 3.4.4 release.

Luckily, JomSocial’s latest version, 4.1, has a neat trick to make starting your community super-easy.
