Hello, we would like to respectfully request a refund as we are less the 10 days into our trial of Jomsocial. We purchased Jomsocial as it states it is "Social Networking for Joomal". Joomla, at its' core, is a CMS system, see their wiki page, the first words are "CMS" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joomla . Yet, to state it directly, JomSocial has *absolutely NO* integration with Joomla's Content Management system. :( JS is a good social networking solution and does integrate well with Joomla menus framework, but nothing with Joomla's core CMS functionality.

To elaborate further, we are launching a news platform in Q1 and the fact that JS has *no* module to embed within Joomla/K2 articles that will allow our users to post comments/likes back to JomSocial is rather astonishing, and very disappointing. At this time, we do not wish to "bolt" a solution together with an additional 3rd party solution provider to allow commenting within articles, as they would likely be stored in the 3rd party system, thereby not searchable by our members from within our social network solution. We believe this is essential for any publisher looking to utilize a social networking platform to leverage their content. Again, although Jomsocial is a good social networking solution, it currently has no integration to Joomla CMS functionality, a must have for us. :( So we kindly and respectfully request a refund of our Jomsocial purchase. Thank you, and we wish you continued success!

I'm sorry but is not possible to give you a refund under these circumstances. We not only describe what we sell, we also give full access to a demo site to test the product. Also, we offer an open forum to discuss presales topics. This way all our customers know what they are purchasing.

Hope my message find you well !! Appreciate your prompt reply. Not sure I was clear in my original post, so let me provide a bit more detail. First, I’d like tom mention that JS refund policy does not say we need to check the demo and research your forums to obtain a refund, we are all busy in business and life and we must trust one another. We don’t have time to go looking over every thing before moving forward./..we trust and have faith that people will act in a fair and reasonable manner.

If you read JomSocial’s refund policy the first item states
• Our products will work as described.

This is close to your comment “we describe what we sell”…We purchased JomSocial with the understanding that it would integrate with our CMS system, Joomla, yet there is *no* integration with Joomla CMS. JomSocial’s homepage header describes JomSocial as “Social Networking FOR Joomla” It doesn’t say ”Social Networking based on the Joomla framework” or perhaps at the very least “Joomla BASED Social Networking”.. Joomla is first and foremost a CMS system. Look at Joomla’s own site, it states it is a CMS solution www.joomla.org/about-joomla.html Joomla is primarily used as a CMS and the majority of Joomla extensions are meant to help users manage and share their content (articles, audio, video) in one way or another. To state that it is FOR Joomla implies someone who USES Joomla for CMS. People reading this statement would *not* believe it is referring to the Joomla framework, which we acknowledge JS is based upon! At the very least this is misleading and a potentially false statement by Jomsocial, however unintentional it may be.

After purchasing JS and discovering JS lacked this functionality, we even contacted JFB Connect to see if they had this capability and could close the “gap” before we decided to ask for a refund. If you would like to see our email from them to verify this was an important issue for us, we are happy to oblige. We also contacted Compojoom to see if they offered this functionality, they have some functionality in this area but limited. Again happy to share the emails.

Regarding JS demo site: Jomsocial’s demo site (front-end and back-end) has no CMS functionality to show the lack of CMS integration in JomSocial. Also, the word demo is nowhere on JS refund policy and it does not say that looking over all the demo functionality is required to receive a refund. Again we are all busy in today’s world and must have more trust and faith in one another and Our Creator.

As for the pre-sales forum: a quick search will show several posts in the past 3 months where JS employees state the client can simply ask for a refund if they are not happy…There is no correction by JS management within these threads stating this is not JS policy. One post just last month where a JS administrator (Dimas) said a potential customer could get a refund if system doesn’t fit their needs. I personally love this attitude and business philosophy, what a great abundant attitude! Be confident, come from abundance…there are over 6 billion people on Earth, if one leaves for whatever reason, 4 new clients may appear…Love this post! :)

If JS has the best Joomla Social Networking product, as JS claims it does on JED, then simply allow customers a refund and they may come back if the grass is not greener on the other side. At this point, we *may* end up using JS in the end. However, the “FOR JOOMLA” functionality that is missing is very important so after discovering JS has no Joomla integration, we decided it was best to take a step back within the refund period to assess our must haves and if the value of a social networking solution outweighs the drawback of not having this functionality. Consequently, we have also installed other iJoomla products, Publisher and Guru, that we are testing to see if we will upgrade to the Pro version.

In response to your comment that we still had JomSocial installed. We attempted to disable and uninstall yesterday and unfortunately ran into issues where our core Joomla would no longer work properly (we were getting 403 errors). We issued a support ticket and you can see the ticket if you like. We have since uninstalled JS and your members still have access to our back-end if you wish to verify. I’d like to inject a little humor here and say, we do trust they will not corrupt our database or include a line code that will set off a virus in 6 months :) that would be worth far more then the refund price of JS :)

Ricardo, we know all things are possible with the right intentions and coming from a place of respect, abundance and faith. Again we respectfully request a refund. We hope you will reconsider and grant our request. There is no better time of the year than now to think from an abundant mindset. Our Lord and creator can bring blessings to us and may reward JomSocial multiple times over! …perhaps bring you 2, 10 or 20 new clients this Christmas. :) We too may be a future client of JS or Publisher/Guru Pro. Hi Todd,

By definition JomSocial is a Joomla! extension and is integrated with Joomla!, other way is not possible to use it. So, your argument is not solid. Also, considering that you had the oportunity to test the product on our demo site to confirm what you are purchasing there isn't anything we can do about this. You're still using the extension on your site and it's another reason to don't give you a refund.

Hi Ricardo, perhaps you have us confused with another customer? As we stated, we have already uninstalled JomSocial. You can visit our website or check our back-end as we stated we would offer continued Admin access so that you and your team can verify we have removed JomSocial. Also, as we mentioned, we had an issue after uninstalling JS last week and created a support ticket which is why we had not uninstalled JS at the time we requested the refund. You can check the support ticket to verify this? Again, appreciate your time and JomSocial is good social networking just may not be the right fit for us as it currently does not integrate with Joomla CMS. We respectfully request a refund.
