BUG REPORT: No admin notification emails sent when a new user registers

ISSUE SUMMARY:

In Global Users Configuration, the following settings are employed:

User activation: Self
Admin notification: On


Yet, when a new user registers, the Administrators do not receive any notification.

This is a significant bug which deprecates Joomla behaviour and can allow sites to come under spam attack with bot registrations etc etc.

I would be most grateful if you can help with this bug to restore secure Joomla behaviour.

Hi Mark,

Are you using old Jomsocial version? I checked on your community page, and its old Jomsocial version, I suggest you upgrade it to the latest version.

I am using Jomsocial 4.1.3
Joomla 3.4.5

User Config settings as above: but no administrator emails on registration.

Hi Support,

I have upgraded to Jomsocial 4.1.4.

The user configuration settings are shown in the screenshot below.

Still - no admin emails being sent on account creation.

I can supply login details to site if you give me address to send them to

Hi Dimas,

Thank you for acknowledging this significant user registration bug, which deprecates secure Joomla admin behaviour.

It is impossible to roll out a live website for clients based on Jomsocial registration while this bug exists.

I note from a cursory review of the Jomsocial forum that this bug has been reported by other users:

1. on the 21st December 2015
2. on the 20th November 2015 . This is over 1 month and 1 week ago!

There are probably other reports here as well, which I have not found by a forum search.

It therefore seems strange that you did not immediately acknowledge my bug report, and instead asked me to upgrade from Jomsocial 4.1.3 to 4.1.4, while knowing full well that this well-reported bug has not been addressed in 4.1.4.

Can you please inform myself and other paying customers when we can expect this high-priority bug to be rectified by your team?

I will set this issue as high priority to the project manager and developer, but for now our developers still on holiday, and will be back next 2 weeks.
