JomSocial is not working after upgradation

And also no users able to comment on any post, when i am trying to add comment, it say saving ..... and after that nothing will happens and it didn't add any comment.

Hi Jeff,

did you upgrade the Jomsocial version from older version?
please read this:
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Upgrade...al_3.0.x_on_Joomla_3

because your jomsocial database too much different. I think you need to uninstall and install it again.
dont forget to bakcup first, using akeeba backup maybe.

but in uninstalling i will loose all my data, what's the best way to resolve all these without loosing my data.

Hi Jeff,

first you must install fresh Jomsocial at your localhost. after that by using phpmyadmin compare it with your current site database structures. if not same, add the missing field at database.

need extra work.

But this will take lot of time, is there any quick way to resolve this by installing a fresh copy on present installation without uninstalling old one? or something else?

Hi Jeff,

the files already uptodate, the problem only at DB structure. to fixing DB structure manually is more safe.
you only need compare the table with table name containing "community".

Can i send you the tables name in which the structure is different, and can you please modify the structure of those tables?

Hello sir,

I checked all the tables structure and added all the missing fields etc, now all tables have same structure. Everything seems working now, except comments, still not able to post comment in wall.
Please check and help me rectifying this.

that because field "params" not exist at your DB. after I did this query from your phpmyadmin.

ALTER TABLE `jass_community_wall` ADD `params` TEXT NOT NULL 

I able to post comment in wall

Hello sir,

Thanks for your great support.

1) sir i still have 2 issues in wall stream, in front of some post it is showing
{actor}
and in some old posted images it is showing
{actor} added {multiple}{count} new photos{/multiple}{single}a new photo{/single} in <a href="{photo_url}">justinhemp's Photos</a> album

can you please let me know the solution of this.


2) How i make community videos, images and members list make private so that only registered users able to see videos, pictures and members in jomsocial, no guest i want to see all these, on click guest will redirect to login page only.

Hi Jeff,

please make sure your administrator is valid at site info. because i can't logged in to you site backend.

1) i think this only language file problem
2) you can make the toolbar menu item for videos,photos,friends as registered access level, after that you can setup it from jomsocial backend - configuration - provacy.

But for those, I need access your administrator page to make sure those work.

sir i shifted my site to new domain now, here i am attaching the new address with new login details. please use the details from Test/Development Site Information field.

menu items already set to registed users, but by using the direct links everyone able to see pictures, videos and members. can you please let me know from where to secure these from guests?
