Hi,

When starting a group discussion, the first post stays on the top. The following answers to the discussion have the order "newest first". For example:

Discussion start
Last answer
Answer 5 (..)
Answer 4 (..)
Answer 3 (..)
Answer 2 (first answer)

This is really confusing when newer members start to read former discussions. It would be more logic to have a order like that:

Discussion start
First answer
Answer 2 (..)
Answer 3 (..)
Answer 4 (..)
Answer 5 (last answer)

But when I change this, every update will reset my settings.
Maybe this would be a nice new backend setting that will be saved in database.

Yes, as this customization is CORE FILE HACK. And as you know:

Core hacks are not recommended nor supported as they may not working with future JomSocial releases and/or cause issues that will be not supported. Users with core files hack refuse to upgrade their installation to keep those hacks and they are stuck with outdated and unsupported versions.
