Profile Read Only Fields Not Saving

Our user profiles has a number of read only radio buttons for qualifications. The idea being that subscribers can see what qualifications they have but cannot change it themselves ( this being done by admin in the backend ).

If the user goes to their profile ( image_1 )and clicks on save changes all the read only fields are set back to null and their values are lost ( image_2 )

Unfortunately its on a site that has just gone live with a large user community. Is there a workaround or a timescale on the fix ?

here the temporary fix:

Please log in or register to see it.


unzip and put it at:
/components/com_community/controllers/profile.php

and for any missing value, site admin must edit that field again from jomsocial backend > monitor > members

Hi,

jomsocial has been released 4.2.5, but this issue will be officialiy fixed at 4.2.6
if you upgrading the jomsocial to 4.2.5. after upgraded, please put this file for this issue fix:

unzip and put it at:
/components/com_community/libraries/fields/radio.php
