We have had the problem of emails (such as friends request notification emails) always going to users spam. Now the emails don't seem to be sent out at all.

The emails we want users to receive are ticked in the back end.

Hi,

please changing Mail Settings at joomla global configuration by using SMTP instead PHP mailer.
by using PHP mailer there is a weakness, the email header not trusted. thats why the emails going to spam or blocked by mail server at recipient side.

you can asking your server support about SMTP settings detail

Thank you, the SMTP emails work.

A further problem, some of the actions we have ticked (private message & group invite) send an email to users but we cannot seem to get friend request and group announcement emails to work.
