SSL error when click send after filling registration form

Hi

I have Jomsocial 4.0.9 on Joomla 3.4.3. Now my users can't register because of a SSL error

During registration, after filling the form, doing recaptcha and clicking on send, i get the following error now.

Error 0: SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed

The strange thing is, the site is NOT SSL-enabled....

Any fast help would be appreciated...

regards

Rolf

Hi, Rolf.

I assign developer to this thread.
Please, report this issue also to your hosting provider, this may be cURL issue.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Any news on this? What do your developers think about that?

PS: The problem starts directly after the update to 4.0.9.

Hi,

the issue not from jomsocial, I trace back the code. the issue from joomla it self.
for fix the issue I put this code

$options[CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER] = false;
at [joomla site root]/libraries/joomla/http/transport/curl.php line 152

FYI:
php.net/manual/en/function.curl-setopt.php

that mean to stop cURL from verifying the peer's certificate.
