ISSUE SUMMARY:

We have some users complaining that there profiles are listed when they do search on google. so how do we hide or remove from google search

STEPS TO REPLICATE:

www.google.co.in/#q=mike+jomsocial+profile

You can do this kind of search in any of jomsocial installed sites u will be able to see the results & profile of those users

You should set your profile privacy, and set it to members only or friends only.

You can set it in backend, Jomsocial configuration->privacy

i changed everything to members now & still i can see profiles are listed in google search how to remove it from it.

Its need take some times, usually 48hrs until google re-detect your site again.. it wont totally removed, the profile name still in google but without detail info, and when user click it they cant see the detail of that profile, except you login to your site first.. that is default behavior..

Sorry that is not possible, well this is not Jomsocial scope anymore.. I am sorry..this is google search engine section :)

you can use it, eg.. if you set the profile url like this www.yoursite.com/community/profile/xxx . so you can disallowed folder community/profile, well i am not sure it will work.. but you can try it.
