i set now all to local. i use also jreviews with s3 and never had any problems, only the same issue with jomsocial!

i dont want to use any hacks, this issue is present about 4 weeks and more as i know!!
this has to go under updates. as an admin you have to react fast, but not with hacks that makes more and more workload but with a simple oneclick update as other devs also provide.
why you dont provide quick updates also for minor bugs?
the avatar is also missing on frontend too. the whole s3 thing is not stable and need a complete check
1) if using s3 that will depend with they service, so far Amazon guarantee 99% they server will up and running well. Jomsocial also always make some improvement at the code.
2) Karma image issue will be fixed at our next release. but I put the fix already at your site.

3) about avatar missing I can't see that issue anymore. please report back if any. maybe old cache
