Can't select video category when posting a video in the activity stream

ISSUE SUMMARY:
When I try to post a youtube video in the activity stream and try to select the category nothing happens when I click on the category dropdown - no category list opens


STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 log into site
2 post video in activity stream by pasting youtube url in sharebox
3 try selecting category
4
5
RESULT no category appears
EXPECTED RESULT categories appear so one can be selected
BROWSER Google Chrome & Internet Exlorer

solved - video had been posted once before - had to be deleted through the JomSocial Administrator page.
