ISSUE SUMMARY: We have a requirement to have each user only see their own points - logged in users can not see each other points

do you mean at other user profile page?

here the steps:
1. copy focus.php from /components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/profile/ to /templates/[frontend template]/html/com_community/layouts/profile/ (create this location under frontend template)
2. edit that file, at line 344

if($badge->current && $config->get('enable_badges')) : ?>

changing it to

if($badge->current && $config->get('enable_badges') && $isMine) : ?>
