Hi,
Joomla v3.3.3, JS v3.2.1.1
let me explain what we want to achieve:
Users should be able to search members belonging to the same gender than them. So we've set 2 custom fields:
Search for: "Male|Female" , You are "Male|Female". So if a male user search another male user, result should display all the male users looking for male.
Unfortunately result is wrong it takes also Female searching male, see attached file in relation with.
Can be seen on our live site log as julien with same password described for JSupport.
Custom gender fields defined are:
"Vous recherchez" (Search for Male|Female)
"Vous êtes" (You are Male|Female)
Cheers,
L
Hi.
You used two field with type "gender"?
Then try to use only one "gender" filed type and another field should have "select" type...
Then check for search results.
Hi,
you're right we've defined two field with gender type. And in mean time we've changed one to "select", unfortunately same problem.
L
Quick question:
if we change type from gender to select should we keep in the option field:
COM_COMMUNITY_MALE
COM_COMMUNITY_FEMALE
or
Male
Female
It seems than first choice makes advancesearch working not the second one.
Strange isn't ?
Cheers,
L
HI.
You should use language constants. It's probably related with previous issues with gender fields...
So this combination works now?
Yeah. So if we want combine several gender field:
Only one needs to be declared as gender type
Others as Select type with language constants.
Right ?
Cheers,
L
Finally we've found a workaround by using both field as select type with
COM_COMMUNITY_MALE
COM_COMMUNITY_FEMALE
Instead of using gender type.
We don't think that it's the normal config way.
Shouldn't we use gender field ?
Cheers,
L
Hi.
You should only if you care for statistics based on gender and demographic chart.
Also it may cause that all newly registered users will be "male" by default (get male avatar).
It doesn't work with gender and select types?
unfortunately not, see my previous post.
in fact it depends of the order's criteria, as mentioned above.
Cheers,
L
Hi.
You have right. When Gender is first criteria then all the res is just ignored.
I report it as a bug.
Hi.
Please, upgrade to JomSocial 3.2.1.3 and check if issue persist.
Hi.
Does upgrade fixed this issue?
we are testing it again, we'll let you know
cheers,
