mod_jomsocialconnect Placed on site hompage leads nowhere

I have placed the module in a module position on the home page. Module is published and Facebook Connect works on the Jomsocial page perfectly so all settings including API is correct. When clicking the Facebook module image on the home page, it just remains on the homepage and user is neither registered or logged in.
